CCETC’s Ongoing Illegal Activities at Ossiomo Raise Concerns

By DADA AYOKHAI

In a startling affront to Constituted authority and corporate ethics, the Chinese company CCETC has been consistently engaging in illegal activities at the Ossiomo Power Plant, blatantly disregarding court orders. Since October 5th, their relentless intrusion into Ossiomo Power Plant has not only disrupted its operations, it has been a direct attack on the livelihood of thousands of customers who are dependent on this essential service for their livelihood and sustainance.

Since October 5th, 2025, the illegal actions of CCETC are nothing short of shocking. Armed with thugs, they have unlawfully disconnected the Ossiomo 33 kV Line, leading to widespread power outages that have persisted for over three months. This power disruption has plunged the communities who are relying on the Ossiomo power supply into economic turmoil, accruing losses exceeding an estimated N1.5 billion losses to Ossiomo Power Plant.

To subvert the federal Court Order
CCETC and FCID, Lagos, obtained an illegal Court order to access the Ossiomo company accounts with Stanbic IBTC, an act which is not only illegal and unlawful but an acts which in itself is criminal and in breach of the orders of the Federal High Court, Abuja, an act which raises serious concerns about the consequences of corporate misconduct when left unchecked.

In a society where accountability should be the cornerstone of business practices, CCETC stands as a glaring example of impunity. CCETC brazen defiance and breach of a court order of the Federal High Court, Abuja and the refusal to honour invitations from the Nigeria Police and the DSS are gracious signs of corporate rascality which also serves as a warning that we must not allow powerful entities to trample on the rights of other Corporate entities like Ossiomo Power Company and the communities who are dependent on the services of Ossiomo Power Supply for their own selfish gain thereby strangulating the economic survival of the community dwellers who are dependent on Ossiomo Power Supply for their livelihood.

The economic cost of these illegal actions by ECCETC cannot be overstated as businesses have been paralyzed , families have faced financial hardship, and public safety has been jeopardized. The ramifications of such egregious behavior extend beyond mere economic loss; they threaten the very fabric of trust that underpins our society.

It is critically imperative that we, as law abiding citizens , demand action. There must be a thorough investigation into CCETC’s practices, and those responsible for this disruption should be held accountable. Our legal systems must not only serve as a framework for justice but also act as a deterrent against such rampant illegality.

The ongoing illegal activities of CCETC at the Ossiomo Power Plant demand immediate attention and action. We cannot stand idly by while a foreign entity disregards our laws and endangers our livelihoods. The time for accountability is now—let us rally together to protect our community and restore order to our power infrastructure. It is our responsibility to ensure that justice prevails, for the sake of our economy, our families, and our future.
