‎AAU VC Appoints kinsman As Deputy Vice chancellor

‎The new Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Prof. (Mrs) Eunice Omonzejie, has held her first Senate meeting, where she presented the names of two professors for approval as Deputy Vice-Chancellors.



‎Prof. Omonzejie who is  the 9th Substantive Vice-Chancellor of the university  was formally unveiled by Chief Dan Orbih, Chairman of the Institution’s Governing Council.

‎She hails from Esan Central Local Government Area in Edo Central district.


‎Professor Andrew Omon Eromonsele, Prof. Omonzejie’s nominee for Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), is also from Esan Central Local Government Area, the same area as the Vice-Chancellor.


‎The second nominee, Professor Osagie Ekhator, has been put forward for the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) hails from the Benin axis in Edo South district.



‎Some pundits believe the Vice-Chancellor, hailing from Edo Central, should have used her discretion to nominate DVCs from Edo North and Edo South districts to ensure broader representation across the state.



‎The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that the nominations of Professor  Eromonsele as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) and Professor  Ekhator as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) are crucial for a strong start to her administration. She highlighted that their expertise would be invaluable in strengthening her leadership, and the Senate unanimously approved the nominations.


‎Professor Eromonsele is a Professor of Sociology at Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma. He holds a B.Sc; M.Sc, and PhD in Sociology from the Universities of Ibadan, Benin, and Ambrose Alli University, respectively


‎The new Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof.  Ekhator is a Professor of Limnology and Algology at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. He is a dedicated teacher, researcher, and mentor with outstanding contributions to freshwater ecology and phytoplankton studies. His research focuses on using algae as indicators of water quality and ecosystem health, and he has published numerous papers in reputable journals.


‎The  appointment of the  Deputy Vice Chancellors Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma now has the full complement of principal officers required to kick-start full management and administration of the institution.
