The Edo State High Court, presided over by Honourable Justice Geraldine Imadegbelo, has delivered a consent judgment in favour of Uyiekpen Ologbosere and Portcall International Farms Ltd in a case against the Governor of Edo State and 20 others (Suit No. B/672/2023).
The court granted authority to the claimants to retrieve possession of the entire land, measuring 200.309 hectares, and ordered the eviction of anyone trespassing on the land.
Similarly, the court set aside all Certificates of Occupancy issued by the Governor to other parties on the land, while upholding the Certificate of Occupancy issued to Uyiekpen Ologbosere and Portcall International Farms Ltd.
A perpetual injunction restraining the Edo State Government, its agents, or anyone claiming through them from further trespassing on the land was also granted by the court.
No financial damages were awarded to the claimants.
Anyone who enters the land or any portion of it will be in contempt of the judgment and risks imprisonment ¹.
