Chief Yisa Braimoh, a former Senator who represented Edo North at the National Assembly and the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) leader in Owan Clan, has resigned from the party.
Senator Braimoh, who is the first Owan person to represent the senatorial district at the National Assembly, tendered his letter of resignation to the ward 1 chairman of the party in Ihievbe, Owan East Local Government Area.
The resignation letter dated August 10, 2025, was made available to BorderlineNews24 in Benin City, Edo State.
He attributed the resignation to irreconcilable differences within the party.
He, however, expressed gratitude to the party, its members, and leaders for their support over the years.
The People’s Democratic Party chieftain’s resignation from the party appears to be linked to his new role as Leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition in Edo North.
As Leader of the ADC coalition in Edo North, Braimoh presided over the maiden inauguration of the party in the district, marking a significant step in his new role.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) recently received recognition from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its national officers led by Senator David Mark as National Chairman and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary.
This recognition comes after a period of internal restructuring aimed at repositioning the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
