Hon. Godwin Omobayo has made his first official appointment as the deputy governor of Edo State.

He appointed a Chief of Staff (CoS) for his office just hours after being sworn in. This is seen as a sign of his readiness to handle the demands of his new position.

The newly appointed CoS is Hon. yakubu Abeni Azeez, a member of the Labour Party, and a resident of Jattu in the Uzairue clan, which is the hometown of the ousted deputy governor, Hon. Philip Shaibu.

Hon. Azeez was a former PDP member. He later joined the LP and contested in the House of Assembly election but lost.

He is popular among Jattu youths and beyond, and expected to boost PDP’s popularity ahead of the September Guber election.
