The Edo State Government has approved the establishment of a campus for the state owned University, Edo university Uzairue at Uhunmwonde Local Government Area
The new campus is to located at Uhenisi community of the locality in Edo South Senatorial district of the state.
Uhenisi community was formerly host of the Federal Technical College, which has since been relocated to another location while the state government took over the premises and facilities.
The revelation was made by the state Commissioner for education Dr. Joan Osa Oviawe, when she accompanied state government Mr Godwin Obaseki on on an inspection of the college .
The Governor Obaseki during the inspection said the state government has taken full control of the Federal Government Technical College, Uhenisi, in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area, after the institution was handed over to the state by the Federal Government.
The commissioner noted that the structure will focus on education, development studies and agriculture, adding that Governor Obaseki has engaged contractors who will construct the road leading to the school.
