Local Government Chairmen across Edo State have joined their counterparts from across the country for a high-level strategic workshop focused on taking the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots.
The workshop, which is the first for the Edo chairmen who were sworn into office in September, was held at the prestigious Banquet Hall of the State House, Abuja.
The three-day event, themed Cascading President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to the Grassroots, held from Tuesday, September 22 to Thursday, September 24, 2026.
It was gathered that the strategic engagement was designed to deepen the understanding of Local Government Chairmen on the policy direction and priorities of the Federal Government.
According to the organisers, the workshop is also aimed at strengthening the capacity of councils to translate national programmes and initiatives into tangible benefits for people at the grassroots.
The workshop featured paper presentations, interactive sessions and strategic engagements with senior Presidency officials.
The sessions provided an avenue for Local Government leaders to exchange ideas and explore practical approaches to advancing development at the local level.
For the Edo chairmen, the engagement provides another platform to gain insights into national development initiatives and strengthen collaboration.
It is also expected to support the various councils’ development priorities in line with the administration’s agenda.
Participants are expected to return to their respective local governments with actionable strategies to cascade the Renewed Hope Agenda to their constituents.
