‎‎ORBIH FAMILY ANNOUNCES FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR LATE DAN  ORBIH

‎The Orbih family of Ogbona, Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State, has announced the funeral arrangements for their late son, Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, DSSRS, a statesman, philanthropist and Knight of St. John.


‎According to the official funeral programme released by the family, the final rites of passage for Chief Orbih will commence in Abuja before moving to his hometown in Edo State for burial and thanksgiving.



‎Orbih died on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the age of 64, according to a statement issued by his family.


‎He was a former  Edo State Chairman of the

‎Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  and former National Vice Chairman, South-South,



‎The ceremonies will begin on Wednesday, 7th October 2026,  with a Requiem Mass at the Catholic Church of the Assumption,  Abuja.


‎Later that same day, by  a Night of Tributes will be held in his honour at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Garki, Abuja  where friends, political associates, captains of industry and family are expected to pay glowing tributes to his life and contributions.


‎*EDO / HOMECOMING –


‎The body departs Abuja for Edo State on Friday, 9th October, 2026. According to the programme, there will be arrival and motorcade at Benin Airport by  with a brief flag stop at his Benin residence, before the motorcade departs for Ogbona, Etsako Central LGA, Edo State.


‎A Vigil Mass will hold on Friday, 9th October, 2026, at  St. John’s Catholic Church, Ogbona


‎The Funeral Mass comes up on Saturday, 10th October, 2026, at 10:00 AM  at St. John’s Catholic Church, Ogbona, followed by interment.


‎The funeral activities will be rounded off with a Thanksgiving Mass on Sunday, 11th October.


‎Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, DSSRS, is remembered as a distinguished community leader, devout Catholic and Knight whose philanthropy and service touched many lives across Edo State and beyond.


‎The family has invited all friends, associates, well-wishers and the general public to join in celebrating a life well-lived.
