Edo Govt Partners Rubber Estates Nigeria to Build Factory, Expand Plantations

The Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO) has announced a partnership with Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited (RENL) to boost rubber production in the state.
The partnership will involve the establishment of a rubber processing factory, the development of out-grower schemes, the provision of land for rubber plantations, and management of dormant plantations for diasporas.
“This partnership according to Kelvin Uwaibi, Managing Director of ESIPO, “is a major step forward for Edo State’s Rubber industry valuable chain.
“Rubber is a valuable commodity with a growing global demand, and Edo State has the potential to become a major producer. This partnership will help us to realize that potential.”
Rubber Estate Nigeria Limited is a subsidiary of Socfin, a leading global agribusiness company. The company has a proven track record of success in developing rubber plantations in Africa, and it is committed to replicating that success in Edo State.
Speaking, the Managing Director of RENL, Olivier Odoukou, said the company is excited to partner with the Edo State Government to develop the rubber estate in the state..
