Hon. Zibiri Muhammed, a former legislative leader in Etsako West Local Government Area, has thrown his hat into the ring, expressing interest in contesting the chairmanship seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC), platform.
Hon. Zibiri Muhammed’s political journey began in 2003 when he was elected as a councilor in Etsako West Local Government Area.
He was subsequently bestowed with the leadership role of the legislative house, showcasing his early potential and leadership abilities.
With years of experience in local government administration, Hon. Muhammed has built a reputation for his dedication to public service and his commitment to the development of his community. His wealth of experience and leadership skills make him a strong contender for the Etsako West Chairmanship seat under the APC platform
Hon. Zibiri Muhammed had his primary and secondary education at Ikabigbo ,his place of birth, he holds a master’s degree from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
He served as Supervisory Councillor for Education during Gani Audu’s second term as Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Area, where he worked to address challenges in primary education and as Secretary to the local government playing a pivotal role in the day-to-day administration of the local government council.
His successful service has earned him recognition as a tested and trusted leader, capable of presiding over local government affairs
Hon. Muhammed emphasizes that his Uzairue clan has only produced one Chairman since 1999, Chief Lucky James, and he’s seeking support from other clans to break this pattern.
Hon. Zibiri Muhammed’s claim to being the most viable option for the Etsako West Chairmanship seat under the APC platform hinges on his extensive network and relationships within the party.
Muhammed has built relationships with key figures which includes Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, , APC State chairman Jarrett Tenebe , Chief of staff to Edo State governor, Hon Gani Audi and Alhaji Abubakar Akokhia amongst others.
His experience as Supervisory Councillor for Education during Gani Audu’s tenure and his roles as SSA to the Governor on Transport and Environment further bolster his credentials.
He further asserts that his relationships cut across Auchi, with many leaders being personal friends. This, he believes, makes him generally acceptable to all sections of the party, a crucial factor in securing the chairmanship seat.
His experience as SSA to the Governor twice demonstrates his ability to work within the government framework and potentially implement policies effectively.
