Uneme Ambassadors honor Ade-Akhani with spelling competition

The Uneme Ambassadors, an Umbrella body of prominent Unemes scattered across Edo state has instituted a spelling competition amongst secondary schools in Uneme nation in memory of a prominent Uneme personality, Late Barr Ade-akhani.

The spelling competition which is tagged Spelling Bee competition maiden edition was won by Igbode Mixed Grammar School of Uneme Erhurun

The managing Director of Trig Energy Ltd./Trig Logistics, Mr Humphrey Teddy Adewumi, a seasoned entrepreneur from Ibillo, Akoko Edo Local Government supported the victorious school with cash gift.

The support is in furtherance of his vision as a detribalize man to ensure that all stakeholders in our education sector are motivated to lift the standard of education in Akoko Edo Local Government Area.

Speaking at the event, Mr Humphrey Teddy Adewumi who was ably represented by a former Speaker of Akoko Edo Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Paul Ojemu disclosed that . “Education is the best legacy you can give to a child, and we must do everything possible to encourage the younger generations and disabuse their minds of the popular saying that school is a scam.

“Many of us didn’t get this morale boost while we were growing up. I will therefore appeal to every parent here to ensure that they do everything humanly possible to give their children good education. For me, I will continue to do the best to support education because if you think education is expensive, try ignorance. He said.

According to him, “The best legacy we can give to our children is education. I will, therefore, crave the indulgence of our parents and other stakeholders to support education”. He added.

The young entrepreneur gave out cash support of 500,000 thousand to the organizers of the program in ensuring the success of the program. Cash prices were given to winners of the competition.

Some of the beneficiaries of the Igbode Mixed Grammar School thanked Mr Humphrey Teddy Adewumi for his support and love for education.
In the same vein, one of the organizers of the program, Mr Marvis Ukpe, showered encomium on Mr Humphrey Teddy Adewumi for his support.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank Mr Humphrey Teddy Adewumi for his support for this program. This is how to know lovers of education. We reached out to so many persons in a bid to organize this program, but Mr. Teddy has distinguished himself by giving us financial support. We are indeed grateful”.

The program had in attendance representatives of Uneme Ambassadors, parents, and pupils of Igbode Mixed Grammar School.
