‎Tinubu Appoints Giwa  As Member NASS Service Commission‎

‎In a twist of fortune, a former Clerk of the Federal House of Representatives, Mr Patrick Ahonkhai Giwa, has been appointed as a member of the National Assembly Service Commission




‎Deacon Giwa who hails from Owan West LGA of Edo North  has lived a serene and private life since he lost out  due to  party intrigues, the People’s Democratic party, PDP , ticket during the 2023 National Assembly party primaries.

‎He  will be stepping back into the spotlight to offer his wealth of public service experience to bear in his new capacity



‎His remarkable journey saw him rise through the ranks of the National Assembly to reach the prestigious position of Clerk of the House, the pinnacle of his illustrious career.




‎He was among the twelve distinguished statesman  chosen by President Tinubu to serve on the board of the National Assembly Service Commission, a testament to his expertise and integrity.



‎Each of the six geo-political zones in the country are represented in the Commission


‎News of Deacon Giwa’s appointment was made public via a State House release on Thursday, February 21, by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga.




‎The appointment is for five years, with the possibility of renewal based on outstanding performance.




‎However, whispers of speculation suggest that this coveted appointment may have been influenced by his kinsman, Prof. Julius Ihonbvere, who represents the Owan federal constituency in the House and serves as the Majority Leader.




‎With all these dynamics in play, Deacon Giwa’s new role is expected to bring a new wave of excitement and progress to the Owan people who believe they have been shortchanged in state appointments
