Tenebe Extends Empowerment Initiative to Ward

The Hon Henry Duke Tenebe Women Empowerment initiative, which was previously held in Ikabigbo, Etsako West, has now been extended to the ward.

100 women drawn from six villages in Ward 12, namely Apashio, Idatto, Irekpai, Ugbenor, Ikabigbo and Ayogwiri benefited from the outreach program.

Borderline News 24 learned that the majority of the women who attended the Ikhabigbo exercise went there hopeful of a life-changing experience and got more than they bargained .

As a result of the overwhelming success, the initiative was expanded to cover ward 12, empowering an additional 100 women, making the total beneficiaries 200.

The stunning success of the initiative has garnered immense support for Hon Tenebe, the initiator of the empowerment initiative and the PDP in Ikabigbo , ward 12 of Etsako west

This may have prompted the ongoing discussions to extend the program to more areas ahead of the upcoming September Edo governorship election.

While other wards in Etsako West are showing interest in having the empowerment exercise reach their communities, the responsibility now lies with other PDP leaders in the council area to replicate this effort in their spheres of influence.

Cash gifts were made to the beneficiaries to support their various endeavours and business.

Prominent Etsako PDP leaders in Etsako west LGA attended the event, including the Chief of staff to the Edo state deputy governor Abeni Azeez and Hon Sherrif Baba Idenolomhe, the PDP Edo north Senatorial Secretary, the Councilor representing Ward 12 at Etsako west legislative arm, Hon frank Asimu.

In an. Interview with journalists, Hon Tenebe expressed his gratitude for the large turnout, which he viewed as an endorsement of his token efforts aimed at empowering Ikabigbo and the women in his immediate ward to be self-reliant.

He mentioned further that the success of the event would positively impact the PDP’s performance in the upcoming election, as Etsako West women have vowed to vote for the Asue Ighodalo Guber ticket on the PDP platform as a way of consolidating on the Godwin Obaseki’s achievements in office.

Hon Tenebe also held the APC responsible for the country’s catastrophic economic condition and saw the Edo election as an occasion to send a strong message to the APC by rejecting them at the September 21 governorship election.

He insisted the result of the Edo election would mark the end of the Edo APC, emphasizing that the Edo people were tired and fed up with the failed promises of the party, stressing further they want to use their votes to extinguish the APC’s thirst for power.
