Stakeholders’ Security Meeting And Politics Of Oshimole’s Endorsement At Iyamho

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on recently met Stakeholders from Edo North district to discuss security matters affecting the zone.

The Security stakeholders meeting was held at the country home of the Edo state former governor, Senator Comrade Adams Oshimole at Iyamho, Etsako West Local government area of the state.

The security meeting was said to have been summoned at the instance of the state governor to address security challenges in the State.

At the meeting, prominent political, religious, and traditional leaders, heads of security agencies, and other key stakeholders converged to brainstorm on how to address the ravaging security challenges in Edo North.

Okpebholo, after the meeting held behind closed doors, said that under his watch, criminal elements will not succeed in destabiliszing Edo State.

He vowed to deal with them decisively and make the state unhabitable for their activities.

Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), Blessing Agbebaku, former governor of Edo State, and Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole, Minister for Regional Development, Abubakar Momoh, former deputy governors of Edo State, Peter Obadan, and Philip Shaibu, were at the meeting.

Others were the former Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Mike Ogiadomeh; former Minister for State Budget, Clem Agba; traditional , Earnest Afolabi, Chief Lucky ohimai and religious leaders, security chiefs, and other stakeholders in the security sector.

Okepbholo said the security stakeholders’ meeting have become necessary to ensure peace and security are maintained across the State, particularly in Edo North.

The second aspect of the stakeholders meeting was the endorsement of former governor, Senator Comrade Adams Oshimole.

The minister of Regional Development Engr. Abubakar Momoh proposed the endorsement using the national Assembly style of Say Ayes and Nay with the Ayes winning the day.

The implications of the endorsement is shutting of the door against potential aspirant.
