The Edo state former deputy governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu whose tenure of office was cut short through impeachment seem to have move to Abuja, the nation’s capital in search for relevance by identifying with the duo of president BolaTinubu and FCT minister, Nyelson Wike.

The saying that there are no permanent enemies or friends in politics seems to hold as Hon. Shaibu has found allies among the former enemies of his ex-boss, Governor Godwin obaseki

The former Rivers State governor, Mr Nyesom Wike, now serving as the minister for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is now an ally of Hon Shaibu

Shaibu seems to have buried the hatchet with Wike and warmed up to former Rivers State governor not minding that Wike had in the past used uncomplimentary remarks against him .

Checks by Borderline News 24 indicate that Hon. Shaibu may have practically shifted his base to Abuja to allow him to engage with the likes of Wike and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who are now his new political allies.

Feeling confident and proud of his newfound relevance, Hon. Shaibu posted pictures of himself on his Facebook page, announcing that he was among the VIPs during the commissioning of the newly constructed Wuje bridge in Abuja.

The bridge was constructed by the Wike-led FCT administration and was commissioned by President Tinubu.

Notable APC leaders and the leadership of the National Assembly were also present at the unveiling of the new bridge by President Tinubu.

In his post, Hon. Shuaib commented on the newly commissioned bridge, stating, “This significant occasion marks a milestone in the administration’s first anniversary, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to infrastructural development and improved traffic flow in the FCT.”

He also praised the President for his visionary leadership and deliberate efforts to build infrastructure, which he noted as a key driver of economic growth and development.

Shaibu was seen sitting next to Chief Dan Orbih, the PDP South-South vice chairman and a known political ally of Nyesom Wike, at the event.

He did not mince words in praising the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, calling him “Mr Project” and alluding to the despatch with which he completed the project that was started in 2009

Most of those who saw the Shaibu Facebook said he did not waste any time in shifting his political allegiance, even if it meant aligning himself with a man who had previously criticized and belittled his political importance.
