The ICAN Governing Council has elevated Hajia Sofuratu Seghosime, from Auchi, Edo State, to president-elect after serving as vice president from 2025 to 2026.
With nearly 40 years in accounting—26 in senior leadership—including as a coordinating director at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (now NRS), she is widely regarded for integrity and steady leadership.
Her ascent to ICAN’s 62nd presidency is seen as a milestone for Nigeria’s profession, reflecting her contributions to financial management and ethics.
In a tribute, Otunba Tobi Abiola, a colleague from the revenue service, said Seghosime’s nomination reflects honesty, ethics and a public-service bent, with principled decisions and transparent conduct
