PDP Defectors Cast Selves as Prodigal Sons, Return Home at Mega Rally

Former Etsako East chairman Hon. Benedicta Attoh likened herself and fellow defectors to the prodigal son returning home, saying they realized the APC — their abandoned base — was better than the PDP where they had gone.
The former chairperson made the statement while speaking on behalf of colleagues who defected to the APC at a mega rally held in Auchi to formally received them
The former LGA chairmen during the Godwin Obaseki administration had earlier defected to the APC at the Warake residence of Abdul Ganiyu Lawani aka
Abu Millionaire, the party senatorial leader in Edo north LGA .
The defectors includes Marvellous Zibiri (Etsako West), Princess Benedicta Attoh (Etsako East), Alade Tajudeen (Akoko Edo), Okondor Kadiri (Owan East) and Gowon Yakubu (Etsako West). Slyvanus Eruaga
Okpebholo speaking at the mega rally, said the SHINE Agenda was already yielding results and promised equal treatment for new entrants, predicting 2.5 million votes for the party in the next contest.
APC State chairman, Jarrett Tenebe and other leaders welcomed defectors calling the move a boost to the party’s strength.
He assured the new members of equal opportunities within the party, emphasizing that the APC remains a united family focused on transforming Edo State.
He said, “I thank those who have joined us today. By the time our 2.5 million votes are delivered, no one will challenge it. Edo has shown that government resources can be used to develop the state for the benefit of the people,”
State APC Chairman, Jarrett Tenebe, Edo North party leaders, and other stakeholders were present to formally receive the defectors, describing their decision as a boost to the party’s growing strength in the state.
