Two aspirants Shedrach Udugbai and Afolabi Umakhihe have entered the race for Owan Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 elections.
Udugbai, a political analyst and former aide on youth affairs to ex-Governor Godwin Obaseki, unveiled his bid at a rally in Afuze attended by people across party line under the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The udugbai campaign is built on the mantra of “Owan First Agenda” .
The first according to the grassroot politician is meant to restore dignity and development to the area.
He promised to “fight for the people in the chambers” and called for unity against domination and excuses.
Umakhihe, a retired permanent secretary, declared for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his country home in Otuo to a festive crowd of supporters.
The atmosphere, marked by music and cheers, reflected growing enthusiasm for his candidacy, which many described as the start of a new chapter for Owan.
