The former Edo Commissioner for Energy and Water Resources, Barr. Washionton Osifo, expressed gratitude to Governor Monday Okpebholo for constructing a road in Uhunmwode community, a project he claimed was not achieved during the tenure of their kinsman, former Governor Godwin Obaseki’s 8-year tenure.
“The people of Uhunmwode will continue to appreciate Governor Okpebholo for this development,” Osifo said, implying the community values the infrastructure improvement
The Former Commissioner who recently resigned from his post to contest for the House of Representatives seat of his constituency made this known during a visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State council,.
He stated that the road construction has improved the lives of farmers, enabling them to easily transport their products to market.
Osifo, who has served as commissioner three times in the state said he is taking a step higher to contest for the House of Reps, where he can contribute to national development.
”I have tendered my resignation letter to focus on my ambition,” he said, adding that this will give him time to engage with his constituency and demonstrate his seriousness .
In a related development, Osifo has appointed Dr. Tony Osazuwa as Director-General of his campaign organization.
In a letter, Osifo cited Dr. Osazuwa’s wealth of political experience, having served in various positions at local, state, federal levels and political organization as a key factor in the appointment.
