Oshiomhole,,Akpatason, Others bid farewell to Mike Oloyo At Imoga

Personalities Across Political divide and Community leaders recently gathered at Imoga in Akoko Edo local government of the state to bid final farewell to the late ,Hon Mike Oloyo.

Hon Oloyo represented at Akoko Edo constituency in the defunct Bendel State House of Assembly and was a member of the defunct Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) between 1979 and 1983.

The UPN was led by the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo. of blessed memory

He passed away on Monday, August 26 at the age of 85, according to the announcement made by Prince Olusi Augustine Afolabi of the Usomogidi family.

Hon Oloyo was a former lecturer at the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, now the Obafemi Awolowo University, and a prominent politician.

Among the notable political figures at the final burial ceremony included the former Edo State governor, Sen Adams Oshiomole, Hon Abubakar Momoh, the minister of the Niger Delta Ministry, Hon Peter Akpatason, a current member of the House of Reps for the Akoko Edo federal constituency , Hon Aslem Agbabi ,a Former member of the Edo state House of Assembly representing a section of Akoko Edo constituency., Dr Tunde Lakoju, former member of the House of representatives representing Akoko Edo federal constituency at the National Assembly.

The burial rites of the late Prince Oloyo started from his Benin residence where the vigil and other activities were held before moving to Imoga, his hometown, for the final rites of passage.

Prince Mike Oloyo served Edo State in various capacities, including as chairman of the Bendel State Cement Company, Okpella, and as a member of the Constitutional Conference.

His last public assignment was as the chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi.
