Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has forwarded a new set of names to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration approval as commissioners.
The nominees were made public through a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq.
Amongst the commissioner designates is Akhigbe John Osi a former aide to former Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
Others are Dr. Jerry Uwangue, Hon. (Barr.) Kenneth Okoruwa Ihensekhien and . Barr. Usenbo Paul Ehigie.
Hon. John Akhigbe, also known as Akpogu, hails from fugar, Avianwu Clan, Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State.
Akhigbe served as Protocol Officer to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole during his administration and later became the Chairman of Etsako Central Local Government under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Akhigbe’s nomination received congratulatory message from Hon. Joseph Ugheoke, Executive Director of Commercial and Environmental Development at the South South Development Commission (SSDC), .
He congratulated Akhigbe on his appointment as Commissioner designate
Ugheoke described Akhigbe as a respected statesman, skilled politician, and seasoned leader whose extensive experience inspires confidence across Edo State and beyond.
According to him, Akhigbe’s appointment is a testament to his exceptional leadership skills and commitment to public service.
