‎Okpebholo’s Cabinet: Edo North Produces  10 Commissioners

‎The recent inauguration of 20 commissioners by Governor Monday Okpebholo, followed by the assignment of portfolios, has revealed that 10 out of the 28 commissioners hail from Edo North district .


‎Edo North district is make up 6 LGAs,  breakdown by local government shows that  Etsako West, Etsako Central, and Etsako East, 2 commissioners each (total of 6 commissioners) Akoko Edo LGA, 2 commissioners, Owan West and Owan East, 1 commissioner each (total of 2 commissioners)



‎The Commissioners and their portfolios are as follows  Engr. Ehijimetor Ohimai, (Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy, Hon. Godwin Eshieshie, (Ministry of Labour and Productivity, Prince Kassim Afegbua (Ministry of Information and Strategy),  Hon. Eugenia Abdallah (Ministry of Women Affairs).


‎Others are Prof.Roland Otaru (Ministry of Justice), Barr.Marie Olabisi Idaomi (Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction),  Hon.Yakubu Musa (Ministry of Lands and Housing).

‎Hon. Andrew Ijegba (Ministry of Mining), and Mr. Innocent Omoh Anabor, ( Ministry of Business, Trade and Investment)


‎Many respondents from the districts claimed that they’re not impressed by the number of commissioners , but rather by the tangible development and progress in the district.


‎They  lamented that the elected state and National Assembly members  from the district  have not lived up to expectations, which has led to reservations about the newly appointed commissioners.


‎The district, considered a stronghold of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has never had such a significant number of commissioners in any cabinet before .
