Edo state Governor , Senator Monday Okpebholo has made two appointments, assigning key positions to individuals from Akoko Edo, following the dismissal of two officials from the Etsako axis.

Hon. Kabiru Adjoto, a former Speaker of the Edo State Assembly, has taken over as Chairman ,Edo state local government service commission from Hon. Lawani Dania from Etsako Central, who was suspended and later relieved of his appointment without a stated reason.

Similarly, Emmanuel Fashanu has been appointed as Managing Director/CEO of Edo State Flood, Erosion, and Watershed Management Agency previously held by Hon. Ahmed Musa from Etsako West.

Musa was suspended, recalled, and eventually relieved of his duties without specified reasons, as per a letter signed by Secretary to the Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor

These appointments might be seen as a nod to Akoko Edo’s significant contribution to Governor Okpebholo’s electoral victory.

However, some observers in Etsako believe the positions should have been retained within Etsako to maintain regional harmony.
