Okpebholo, Face Of New Fadama CARES In Edo- Alli

The Edo State Coordinator of Fadama CARES project, Hon. Alli Ibrahim, has described Governor Monday Okpebholo as the new face of the project in the state.
Ibrahim who spoke in an interview, said the governor’s practical approach has enabled the project to meet the vision of its major partners, including the World Bank, its beneficiaries and the local farmers.
He said the governor’s approach has also enhanced the farmers’ ability to produce food, thereby supporting food security in the state which is part of President Tinubu Renewed Hope agenda.
He said the Fadama CARES programme is a World Bank-supported initiative designed to enhance food security in Edo State by providing support to local farmers through resources and support that enables them to improve their livelihoods.
Ibrahim, however, lamented that the Fadama programme was neglected during the previous administration in the state but thriving under the governor Okpebholo’s leadership by meeting the Counterpart Funding Obligations.
”By implementing the project effectively, Governor Okpebholo has demonstrated his commitment to improving the lives of Edo State citizens and promoting agricultural development.
”By working with local farmers, the Edo Fadama CARES programme aims to contribute to the state’s food security and economic development”, he said
He listed the achievements so far recorded by the project under the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo to include distribution of assets and inputs such as tricycles, mini grinding machines, defeathering machines, cassava milling machines, motorized sprayers, fertilizers, cassava cuttings, herbicides, and power tillers to beneficiaries..
He added that the 200-hectare Udomi Farm Project is focusing on maize production, with three brand-new tractors delivered to boost cultivation capacity.
He also added that the three senatorial districts, would have the touch of Fadama Cares programme in the State.
The FADAMA CARES boss, however, listed the provision of false information to the World Bank and other partners by farmers as one of the major challenges confronting the programme in the State.
He opined that the development can undermine the trust between the farmers, programme implementers and partners in achieving the goals of the programme.
Ibrahim who is from Edo North Senatorial district is also a new face in Fadama having recently come on board in April.
The FADAMA CARES, coordinator is an aviator and management expert, a seasoned business consultant, a philanthropist, a community and youths mobilizer.
He is a product of Federal Polytechnic, Bida, and Lagos State University with Master degree in Businesses Administration(MBA).
