Uwano Royal Father Bags Suspension

The use of suspension by Edo state governor, senator Monday Okpebholo as a panacea to address shortcomings by government officials has been extended to the traditional institution in the state with the Okumagbe of Uwano Kingdom in Etsako East LGA becoming the first victim.
Governor Okpebholo has ordered the immediate suspension of Dr. George Oshiapi Egabor, the Okumagbe of Uwano Kingdom, Agenebode, Estako East Local Government Area of the state, over recent cases of incessant kidnapping and killings in his domain.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Fred Itua, and made available to newsmen late Tuesday night.
According to the statement, secretary to the traditional ruler had earlier been arrested following a recent incident that led to the death of a Palace Chief, Late John Ikhamate.
Itua, in the statement added that the suspension of the traditional ruler is indefinite.
