‎Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Mr. Odior John Osirenimhe as the new Chairman of the Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS).

‎Osirenimhe, an accountant from Ekperi clan in Etsako Central LGA, takes over from Hon. Otunba Oladele Bankole-Balogun, who resigned to pursue electoral ambitions in Akoko Edo LGA.

‎The appointment, announced in a statement by State Government Secretary, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., has been welcomed by Etsako communities, who praise Osirenimhe’s accounting prowess.

‎A kinsman described the appointment as “a compensation” following the removal of Lawani Damian as Chairman of the Edo State Local Government Service Commission in February 2025 due to misconduct allegations  barely two months in office.
‎He was  appointed  in December 24 2024.
