The Governor announced this decision on Monday while inaugurating the Labour House in the state. He further disclosed that the new minimum wage for civil servants comes into effect on May 1st, 2024.
Obaseki is currently serving out his second term even as the state gears up for another governorship election later in September this year.
Another significant announcement at the inauguration of the Labour House was naming the edifice after his precessor, comrade Adams oshiomhole who is presently the senator representing Edo north at the national Assembly .
Political Observers said the increase in minimum wage may likely boost the chances of the PDP candidate in the state Guber race, Barr Asuen Ighodalo at the poll.
