The Director General, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA),Zubaida Umar has harped on strengthening public trust in disaster management in the country.
The Director General Represented by the NEMA Head Benin operation office, Kenoma Ojudeire, said this in Benin yesterday during customers service week with team “mission possible”
She said the theme is a power reminder that no challenge is insurmountable when service is driving by purpose and passion.
She noted that NEMA as disaster management agency, its customers are the millions of Nigeria whose livelihood depend on the agency efficiency, empathy and professionalism.
According to him, whether the agency is responding coordinating to disaster or coordinating humanitarian relief, managing internally displaced persons’ camps,or strengthening community resilience, ” our success is measured by the trust and satisfaction of the people we serve.
This, she said calls for strengthening public “trust” and aligns the agency’s humanitarian interventions with national policies and internation standards.
On his part, the Executive Secretary, Edo State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Jerry Idahosa, noted that NEMA Benin office customer service is worthy of emulation.
According to him, the Benin office led by Kenoma is always alive to its responsibility of disaster and emergency management in the state.
He called on all stakeholder in disaster management to strengthen vollaboration and partnership in response to disaster and emergency.
