Hon. Murphy Osaro Omoruyi Throws Weight Behind Fight Against Drug Abuse

The member representing Egor/ Ikpoba-Okha federal constituency of Edo state in the National Assembly, Honourable Murphy Osaro Omoruyi has added his voice to the fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics.
The lawmaker made his position known on Thursday in Benin City, Edo State while commemorating the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illegal Trafficking.
Hon. Omoruyi tasked well meaning Nigerians to tackle the dangers posed by drug abuse and illegal trafficking.
” Today, as the world marks the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, I, Honourable Murphy Osaro Omoruyi; member representing Egor/Ikpoba-Okha federal constituency, add my voice to the urgent and emotional fight “.
The federal lawmaker noted that, ” This issue is deeply personal to me. With the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital located in my constituency, I have seen firsthand the pains, damage ,and heartbreaks caused by drug abuse. I have listened to the cries of families, seen the struggles of young people, and supported those seeking help to rebuild their lives.”
Continuing, Hon. Omoruyi said, ” These are not just stories. They are real lives, real futures at risk.”
The Labour Party federal parliamentarian therefore used the occasion of the the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking to call on parents, leaders, the youths and concerned Nigerians to join him in the fight noting that drug abuse is not just about law enforcement but about saving the youths, healing the communities and giving hope to the hopeless and building a society where young people can thrive without falling into the traps of addiction and crime.
Highlights of the event in Egor/ Ikpoba-Okha federal constituency of Edo state includes awareness campaigns on the dangers of drug abuse at major routes in the two local government areas ( Egor and Ikpoba-Okha ) that make up his constituency.
The campaigns will berth at Uselu Market , Springfield School, Lydia Group of Schools , St. SaviourJunction , and at KU FM .
