Hajj:Edo Pilgrim Board requests additional 150 Slots

The Edo State Pilgrim Board has requested for additional 150 Hajj slots from National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) so to accommodate all intending pilgrims who had made payment.

The board’s State Chairman Sheik Ibrahim Oyarekhua, who disclosed this said pilgrims have been given till April 21 to complete their payment.

He said initially the state was given 274 slots but about 355 intending pilgrims have either made full or part payment to perform the pilgrimage in Makkah, adding that their projection was 400.

“We have applied for additional 150 slots, we have officially presented our request to NAHCON chairman and he has promised to oblige us the request”

“Now about 350 intending pilgrims have made either full or part-payment for this year Hajj in the state, our targets this year’s Hajj was 400”.

“The Hajj fare for Edo pilgrim is two million, nine hundred and fifty eight thousand naira (N2,968, 000) and the deadline for the payment for is April 21”

He explained that intending pilgrims payment response have been very encouraging since the announcement fare by NAHCON, adding that the state government has very supportive

He however charged intending pilgrims who have already made part payment to complete the money before or on April 21 to enable them to embark on the journey to the Holy land.
