‎The Edo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in Collaboration with Edo Chapter of the Special Marshal has organized a workshop to  trained officers on security and safety strategies for operations on the road.


‎Speaking during the “Special Marshal 2025 Sectorial workshop” the Sector Commander, Cyril Mathew, said the workshop reflects the commitment of the FRSC and Special Marshall to improve safety culture, volunteerism and operation excellence within the FRSC


‎The theme of the workshop  “enhancing safety and Security for Special Marshals’ operations” was apt and could not have come at a time better than now,


‎”The nature of our road and the evolving security landscape in our roads and growing demand of proactive engagement call for a new  strategy that strengthen both our operation and collaboration with the public.


‎”Special Marshals remain a back bone of community oriented advocacy and a bridge between the Corps and the motoring public, a trust volunteer force whose selfless service continue to save lives and promote orderliness on our highways,” Matthew said.


‎He added that the workshop was designed to sharpen the highway skills and broading the understanding and collective resolved of the operatives to a safer roads for all.


‎He urged them to reflect on innovative ways and home grown  initiative that will enhance  surveillance and improved response mechanism and deepening our synergy with law enforcement and community stakeholders.


‎Also speaking, the National Coordinator, Speccial Marshals, Adaji Usman, said the theme was both deliberate and apt, considering the growing rate of insecurity across the nation.


‎Represented by Michael Agbamu,  noted that  it has become imperative for members to operate with heightened strategic awareness and vigilance, as their safety is paramount to the Corps.


‎Usman said the workshop represents a crucial step towards equipping Marshals  with the knowledge and strategies necessary to protect themselves while  serving and safeguarding the nation.


‎He said his administration has recognized the urgent need to reposition and strengthen several core areas of our operations as Special Marshals.


‎In his speech, the Zonal Coordinator, Paul Ade represented  by Kennedy Idolor, said Edo chapter is in a rebuilding process and that all hands should be on deck for them to succeed.


‎He said they need the cooperation of all Marshals in the state to move forward.


‎In his address, the State Coordinator of Special Marshal, SM Maxwell Ighalo,  urged the participants  to pay attention as they give an insight to their operation as Special Marshals and efforts put together to improve continually on its core mandate, which is safer road fuller lives add zero crashes.


‎”I want us all to also take advantage of the medical wellness check outside, provided by the State Special Marshal in collaboration with the Sector Command, to providing health and wellness checks on willing persons, offer free eye-test and glasses as may be deem fit for you after the test” he said.


‎Declaring the event open, Hon. Inumidun Taiwo thanked the Marshals for their selfless service, noting that they will benefit immensely from the workshop


‎The event also featured free medical outreach for Marshals and members of the public.
