The solemnization of the union between the Garuba family of Etsako, Edo State, and the Egbunu family of Lokoja, Kogi, recently took place on Saturday, May 3
The marriage rites were held in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State.

The late Rt. Hon. Zakawanu Garuba was a former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly.
The scenic and alluring surroundings of Lokoja provided a perfect backdrop for the two families to celebrate the blossoming love between Haliru and Hafsat.
Love was undeniably in the air, and there was no doubt that the young Haliru Garuba may have found his missing ribs in Hafsat.
With the marriage rites agreed upon by both families, the wedding reception is tentatively scheduled to take place in Abuja in the coming weeks.
Haliru appears to be following in his family’s footsteps and undoubtedly carrying on his father’s legacy with dignity.
His late father was a brilliant lawyer, while his mother, Hajia Hassana Garuba, chose to serve on the bench and is presently a judge on the Edo State High Court.
The young Haliru is also a Managing Partner at Zacks and Zacks Chambers, a thriving law firm.
It is expected that the crème de la crème of society will attend the wedding reception.
The late Rt. Hon. Zak, as he was fondly called, initially practised law in Lagos before relocating to Benin, Edo State, where he later ventured into politics, leaving an indelible mark.
