‎FAAN Provides Boreholes To Host Community in  Benin‎

‎The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in Edo State has demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility by providing boreholes to its host community in Benin, the Edo State capital, in a bid to alleviate water scarcity, enhance quality and safe drinking water.

‎The provisions ushered in jubilation in Ogbe communities, comprising Ogbe Stadium, Ogbe-Ibuya, and Ogbe-Nogbon, which eventually hosted the airport in Benin, making them key stakeholders in the area.

‎The commissioning ceremony of the boreholes in each of the Ogbe communities was performed
‎ by the Benin Airport Manager, Mr. Felix Abayomi Akinbinu, accompanied by the management staff

‎Mr. Felix Abayomi Akinbinu, the Benin Airport Manager, stated that the gesture demonstrates FAAN’s commitment to supporting the well-being of its host communities.

‎According to him, the provision of boreholes to the host community is part of FAAN’s efforts to maintain a cordial relationship with the community.

‎He emphasized that, this initiative fosters a synergy that can be built upon, highlighting the importance of mutual understanding and cooperation.

‎Mr. Akinbinu explained that the decision to provide boreholes was made because access to clean water would benefit a large number of the community’s inhabitants.

‎He also emphasized that the intervention reflects FAAN’s dedication to fostering the sustainability of its host communities.

‎He maintained that the new water facility is anticipated to significantly reduce the community’s reliance on unsafe water sources, thereby improving overall public health and hygiene.

‎He assured the community that more projects are forthcoming and called for continued cooperation between FAAN and the host community.

‎The community elders in each of the Ogbe communities expressed gratitude for the boreholes but requested that FAAN considers providing generators to power them, citing the areas irregular power supply as a challenge.
