Etsako West Local Government Council is poised to revolutionize the automotive sector in the area with building of a Mechanic Spare Parts Village in Auchi, the administrative headquarters of the local government.
The development of the spare parts village which is steadily gaining traction.
was conceived In collaboration with the Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO)-Ease of Doing Business Secretariat .
A series of engagements, including a crucial site visit to the proposed location at the old mechanic site in Auchi, has underscored the commitment of all parties involved.
Stakeholders, particularly mechanics and spare parts dealers at the old site, have also been actively engaged in the planning process.
The project, according to the Managing Director of ESIPO, Mr. Kelvin Uwaibi, is expected to be a game-changer for the local economy. “We anticipate that this Mechanic Spare Parts Village will not only generate employment opportunities but also establish Auchi as a central hub for mechanics and spare parts trading in the area” Uwaibi stated.
The Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Council, Hon. Muhizu Z. Marvelous, has expressed unwavering support for the initiative, emphasizing its potential to significantly boost the council’s revenue. He has assured investors of the council’s full cooperation.
Del-Trazi Limited, the investor and project’s developer, has proposed the establishment of a special purpose vehicle to streamline the project’s execution and eventual handover to the council to run when completed.
As the project moves forward, key stakeholders are diligently working to finalize the details and ensure its successful implementation. The Mechanic Spare Parts Village is anticipated to be a catalyst for economic growth and development in Etsako West.
