Amid the confusion surrounding the alleged illegal impeachment of the council chairman of Etsako West LGA by Impostors masquerading as legislators, sanity finally prevailed with the elected legislative body rectifying the abnormality.
The Council’s legislative body reconvened to officially and formally address the issue, leading to the impeachment of both the council chairman and his deputy.
During the session, which was presided over by the leader of the Etsako West legislative body, Hon. Abdul Yamah, both Hon. Marvellous Zibiri, the council chairman, and Hon. Benjamin Ojetu his deputy, were officially impeached.
Seven out of the twelve members of the legislative body were present to support and vote for the impeachment.
From the moment the members gathered, it was clear that their primary objective was to carry out the impeachment of the council chairman and his deputy.
Without further delay, they swiftly completed the task and concluded the session by electing Hon. Abdul Yamah, the legislative leader, as the acting chairman of the Etsako West council area.
Hon. Abdul Yamah was immediately sworn in before the members dispersed, having accomplished the task at hand.
In his remarks after taking the oath of office, Hon. Yamaha announced the dissolution of the executive council and also gave the assurance that everyone would be included in the scheme of things
During the legislative session, the councillor representing Ward 11, Hon. Valentine Okwillagwe was suspended.
Hon. Okwillagwe faced suspension for allegedly impersonating the leader of the house and incorrectly claiming to be the council chairman.
