Etsako East Local Government has disowned the purported election of a new Okumagbe of Wanno, citing a court order suspending the process.
In a statement,the Secretary Etsako East LGA , Hon Edward Imanobe said the selection process, initially set for January 30-31, was postponed due to the court order from Agenebode High Court.
The council claims the Senior Ukpi Drummer of Agiode ruling house was informed, but an election was conducted and a winner announced despite the suspension
A viral video with former Senator Francis Alimikhena being celebrated as Okumagbe of Wanno-elect sparked controversy amongst the co- contestants .
The statement further said the council will not recognized the election without supervision urging citizens to avoid palace-related actions pending the outcome of court suits .
