‎Edo Waste  Proposes Rate Hike Amidst Public Outcry‎

‎The Edo State Waste Management Board (EWMB) is set to increase charges for waste evacuation services in the state.

‎According to the  Edo information ministry social media handle, the Managing Director of the board, Lucky Enehita-Inegbenehi, inaugurated a Tariff Review Technical Committee, which he chairs, to oversee the implementation of the proposed increase.

‎Enehita-Inegbenehi charged the committee to prioritize integrity and professionalism, emphasizing that the quality of their recommendations will determine the future of waste management financing in Edo State.

‎The initiative aims to ensure efficiency and sustainability in waste management services.

‎ However, the proposed increase comes amidst public concerns over inflation and economic hardship.

‎The exact percentage increase is yet to be disclosed, and reactions from the public are expected .
