The Edo State Government has announced plans to source an alternative 1.5-megawatt power supply to energize all facets of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
This intention was revealed during a recent visit by a team of energy and electrification experts led by the Director-General of the Edo State Electrification Agency, Hon. Saturday Egbadon, who conducted a final energy audit of the campus.”
According to Hon. Egbadon, “Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has directed that the university be provided with full-capacity electricity immediately.
The Director-General explained that this directive is part of the governor’s plan to restore the university to its original standard. “The electrification project will boost research and enhance security on campus.
Egbadon further explained that “the project will address the entire university’s energy needs, powering facilities, equipment, student hostels, streetlights, and other essential infrastructure from the gate to the end of the campus.”
The Acting Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Prof. Sunday Olowo Samuel, has expressed gratitude to the state governor for fulfilling his promises to revitalize the institution.
Prof S.O. Samuel who was represented by the Acting Provost of the College of Medicine, Prof. Idonijie, said, “Since assuming office, the governor has addressed several challenges facing the university.
”The provision of electricity will significantly boost our research efforts and enhance campus security.” The AVC further stated that the university remains grateful for the governor’s commitment to keeping his promises.”
