Edo North Residents Remind Governor Okpebholo of Fire Station Promise
By DADA AYOKHAI
Residents of Edo North have reminded Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo of his promise to establish a fire service station in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area
The reminder follows a recent petrol tanker fire incident that left several people injured, highlighting the need for a functional fire station in the area. Many believe that a fire station would have mitigated the damage caused by the inferno.
Governor Okpebholo had made the promise through the Director-General of the Edo State Fire Service Hon Tony Ojo
who assured that the station would be operational by January 2026, complete with fire trucks.
The lack of a fire station in Edo North has been a longstanding concern, and residents are urging the governor to fulfill his promise.
Oshiobgie Abudu and others are calling on the governor to expedite the process, emphasizing that the project should not wait for another incident to happen.
”We don’t wait another incident to happen before taking action,” they said, echoing a shared concern among locals who believe a fire station would save lives and property
