‎Edo North Produces majority members of AAU  Reconstituted  Governing Council

‎The Edo State Government has unveiled the members of the newly reconstituted Governing Council of the Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma.



‎This reconstitution aligns with the governor’s commitment to rejig the Governing Council of the state-owned university to better fulfil its mandate, as envisioned by the university’s founder, a former governor of the state in whose honour the university was named.



‎In a press statement signed by the Secretary to the Edo State Government, Mr Musa Ikhilor, it was revealed that the seven-member Governing Council will be chaired  by Chief Dan Osi Orbih, a former chairman of the Edo PDP and one of the key figures who helped Monday Okpevbolo secure victory in the September 21 Edo gubernatorial election.



‎Chief Orbih is from Etsako Central in the Edo North district.



‎ The Governing Council also includes two other representatives from Edo North: Hon. Lukman Mohammed and Prof. Eric Kelly  Inanemo Omogbai.




‎Hon. Mohammed hails  from Etsako west LGA , was a former member of the Edo  state House Assembly and has also represented Edo North on the board of the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas.


‎Prof. Omogbai, a retired accomplished scholar at the University of Benin, is from Etsako East.


‎Overall, Mr. Musa Ikhilor announced that seven eminent citizens of the state have been appointed to serve on the Governing Council.


‎Edo North district  boasts of  three members of the seven-member Governing Council while Edo South and Central has two each .


‎Other  members of the reconstituted council are Prof. Idialu Jeremiah Uwaifo, Prof. Omoruyi Osahon, Mr. Martin Osakwe and Prof Steve Iyayi.
