The Edo state governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has in continuation of his tour of the LGAs in the state made a visit to Etsako Central LGA
The all-powerful team includes his deputy, Engr marvelous omobayo, the party Guber candidate,Barr Asuen Ighodalo and top notch PDP leaders in the state as well as senior government officials held a strategic political meetings with key stakeholders to guage opinion, seek support, secure endorsements and also resolve thorny political conflicts.
Also, the tour allowed the governor and his team to build political bridges and alliances
The strategic political meeting took place in Ekperi, at the country home of former Etsako Central Council chairman, Hon. Paschal Ugbome, who also serves as the Director General of the Asue Ighodalo Campaign Council in Etsako federal constituency.
Etsako Central is also the hometown of Chief Mike Oghiadomhe, a former two-term deputy governor of Edo State and the former Chief of Staff to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
Sources who were present at the meeting described the atmosphere as cordial and convivial. They also mentioned that Governor Obaseki was excited to see a gathering of influential political figures who attended the meeting and was impressed by the unity of purpose displayed.
It was reported that the Governor left the meeting feeling satisfied, believing that he had gained enough support and assurances to further his political agenda, specifically regarding his preferred successor as the next governor of the state.
The unwavering commitment of the attendees toward the PDP’s victory in the September election was evident. In clear terms, it proved that the Edo PDP is working hard, both behind the scenes and openly to rid itself of crisis .
In addition to Gov. Obaseki and his deputy, Hon. Marvellous Omobayo, others present at the Etsako Central meeting included the PDP guber candidate, Barrister Asue Ighodalo, his running mate, Ogie Osarodion Esq, and the Edo State PDP chairman, Hon. Tony Aziegbemi.
Also in attendance were the Director Generals of the Asue Ighodalo Campaign Organization in Etsako Central, Etsako West and Etsako East respectively
The DG of the Edo State PDP Campaign Council, Hon. Mathew Iduoriyekemwen also attended, including Hon. Tijani Ugbodaga; Hon. Olu Martins; Hon. Kassim Abdulkarim; CSO Prince Joe Okojie, and many others.
