The management of the Asue/Ogie Campaign Council has described the September 21st Edo state Guber election as a rape on democracy.
This was disclosed by the campaign media team led by Rev Olu martins while addressing the press on the outcome of the election.
Rev Martins who was with the media team during the media parley claimed that the media team opted to address the press to meets the yearning of supporters who are eager about what is the next step of the party after controversial election results announcing the APC candidate, Monday Okpebholo as the winner.
He assured the teaming supporters that they are closely studying the election results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The election he said the results as announced by INEC is a rape on democracy, adding that the exercise was reduced to a contest between PDP versus INEC and police.
He said the whole world followed up the results that was uploaded into the IREV from form EC8A which have the records of all the votes cast in all polling units.
He said this was done in the presence of all accredited observers who were right there in all the units.
He also alleged that it was impossible to rig election without the support of the security agents at the collation centers. He said the rate at which the security agents were harassing and intimidating PDP members at the collation centers was designed to manipulate the election results and eventually rig.
He frowned at a situation where Ikpoba- Okha, Oredo and Egor collation centers were moved to a different location and did not allow PDP agents to follow them with the collision of the security agents.
“This is a state capture. All the agents of the election were also captured to enthrone APC. The APC tigers and lions were seen with security uniforms. These thugs openly were at the INEC office to undermine the electoral process.
“We hold President Tinubu responsible for what happened. Because he promised to give Edo State to APC during his campaign in 2023. He indirectly said he was going to give out the heads of Edo people who willingly came out and voted for Dr. Asue Ighodalo”.
Olu Martins however, said that the APC were quick to write a result without covering the hole of manipulations because they were in a hurry and desperate to win.
