Edo deputy Governor commissions Lebarty American Leadership Academy

Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon Marvellous Godwins Omobayo, has scored the EDO BEST education policy of the state government high

He said the policy is fast gaining global recognition and called on private individuals and groups to cue into it to improve the standard of education in the state

He spoke at the official unveiling of the Lebarty American Leadership Academy in Benin, Edo state capital.

Hon Omobayo also commended the proprietor of the school, Mr Okefe Aigbe Lebarty for his unwavering belief in the policy, adding there is room for more investments in the education sector to guarantee the future of Edo children.

The deputy governor was represented at the event by the Director, office of the Deputy Governor,Mrs Ganiyatu Uwaifo

The Lebarty American Leadership Academy is a privately owned schools founded by Mr. Okefe Aigbe Lebarty, a Nigerian of Benin descent based in the United States.

In particular, Hon Omobayo praised Mr Aigbe Lebarty, the proprietor of the Academy, for keeping faith in the future of Edo children even in the face of the economic reversals the country has suffered, adding his efforts to ensure Edo children receive top-notch education are quite commendable

He further stressed that since the inception of the Obaseki administration, it has made substantial investments in education through the Edo BEST policy covering the whole gamut of teachers’ retraining, welfare, educational infrastructure and teaching aids.

He noted that the EDO BEST policy initiative continues to garner international acclaim as well as serve as a role model for other states to adopt.

At the event, notable Edo citizens including Chief Henry Osato Bazuaye (JP), the Aiwerioghene of the Benin kingdom, and other esteemed individuals graced the occasion.

The high point of the ceremony was the impressive rendition of the school anthem by the students of the Academy

Mr Aigbe Lebarty said his vision for the Academy is to provide world-class education to Edo children at an affordable cost, adding the Academy would be run on the American syllabus

The Academy’s serene and accessible location in Ogiesoba/Iyekepolor Street, Idumwowina Quarter, Benin City, adds to its appeal as a top educational institution in Edo State.
