Edo 24: Ikimi, Oghiadomhe, Tenebe Alimikhena,others inducted into PDP National campaign council

In preparation for the September Edo governorship election, the PDP national body is leaving no stone unturned to ensure total victory for the party and its candidate, Bar Asue Ighodalo

Sequel to the party’s resolve, the PDP National Working Committee,NWC, recently inaugurated a national campaign council to drive the process as well as guarantee victory for the party

The 114 Campaign Council membership includes prominent Edo PDP leaders such as renowned architect Chief Tom Ikimi, Hon Henry Duke Tenebe,two-term deputy governor of the state, Chief Mike Oghiadomhe

Other members include the current deputy governor, Hon Godwins Omobayo and the Edo PDP guber candidate, Bar Asue Ighodalo

The inauguration is part of the process aimed at securing victory in the election and ensuring that Asue Ighodalo succeeds Gov Obaseki at the Dennis Osadebe Government House in Benin.

The PDP National Campaign Council includes members from the three senatorial districts of Edo State.

In Edo North district there prominent PDP leaders are members of the Council, they includes Chief Oghiadomhe former Senator Francis Alimikhena and Henry Duke Tenebe.

Chief Ikimi, speaking on behalf of the Council members, expressed gratitude to the party’s NEC and assured that they would fulfil expectations and deliver results

, Chief Ikimi also downplayed the role of the opposition APC in the upcoming election, stating that the PDP has a strong chance of winning

Earlier, Ambassador Umar Damagunu, the acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who inaugurated the Council in Abuja charged them to hit the ground running to retain Edo State for the PDP.

He also expressed delight with the performance record of the outgoing PDP administration led by Gov Godwin Obaseki, saying the Edo people are eager to reward the party with victory in the upcoming election.

The National Campaign Council is chaired by the Adamawa State Governor, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri.

The acting PDP national chairman strongly criticized a statement attributed to President Tinubu in which he promised to take over Edo State for the APC

Alhaji Damagun urged the APC to follow democratic norms instead of relying on manipulative tactics to win in Edo.
