A new contender to the Edo State Governorship election, the Labour Party,LP, is gaining traction among Etsako West voters.

The LP’s deputy governorship candidate, Prince Asamah Kadiri (SAN), stands as a pivotal influence in this political paradigm shift.

Prince Kadiri’s deep-rooted connections to the Auchi royal family and his legal acumen as a holder of the prestigious SAN title many said are likely to shape the voting patterns in Auchi.

According to Hon Tapo Yakubu, a leader of the party in Auchi, said the community is proud to have the person of Prince Asamah Kadiri as deputy governor ship candidate in the September election.

“The support garnered by the LP from Auchi holds considerable support and has the potential to sway the election’s outcome and the standing of other parties and candidates.”

The nomination of Prince Kadiri as the LP deputy governorship candidate he said has significantly bolstered the LP’s support base, particularly in Auchi.

“Those familiar with him will testify that Prince Kadiri as a figure esteemed within and beyond the Auchi community.”

“Auchi people are deeply religious and have a strong admiration for their monarch and royalty.”

Resulting from Prince Kadiri’s clout, the LP has made significant progress, making it unlikely for the opposition APC to replicate their 2023 success in garnering Auchi votes,he said

“The APC would likely be disappointed to discover that Auchi votes alone would not confer on it the supremacy it used to enjoy in Etsako West.”

“The recent Auchi town hall Meeting hosted by Prince Kadiri was a pointer to the likely outcome of the September governorship election”

“The Auchi voters enthusiasm as well as the changing voting pattern suggests only one thing: voters turnout on September 21 would be massive and the LP will cart the bulkest votes while the PDP and the APC would scramble for the scraps”
