The recent town hall meeting at the Otaru of Auchi hall, Auchi, Etsako West council area, was a huge success for Prince Yussuf Asamah Kadiri, the Edo State Labour Party deputy governorship candidate.
Buoyed by the outcome of the meeting, Prince Kadiri and the LP should be hopeful of a significant impact in the September Edo governorship election.
During the meeting, Prince Kadiri received strong support and encouragement from his fellow Auchi kinsmen, who promised to vote massively for the LP to ensure the party’s success in the poll.
Representatives from twenty-five villages within the Auchi enclave, including religious, political, and traditional leaders, were present at the event.
The town hall was packed with people showing their solidarity and deep affection for Prince Kadiri and the Labour Party. The LP joint ticket in Edo State, featuring Olumide Akpata and Kadiri, has garnered significant attention among the citizens of the state who are hopeful for a credible election that will produce the people’s candidate.
The speakers at the event praised Prince Kadiri, a member of the renowned Auchi royal family, and expressed their commitment to support him in the upcoming September governorship election.
Chief Sule Yesufu, the Daudu of Aibotse village and a notable Auchi political leader, was one of those who eulogized Prince Kadiri for his selfless service to the community.
In particular, he emphasized the need for Auchi to leverage its political influence and numerical strength to rally behind Prince Kadiri and Bar Akpata.
Prince (Dr) Nasiru Ikharo, the founding President of the Auchi Development Foundation, ADF, reiterated the foundation’s support for the Akpata/Kadiri project, emphasizing Prince Kadiri’s role as a founding member of the ADF.
Alhaji Pa Anehru, the Ozaza of Auchi, expressed Auchi’s desire to claim a prominent position in politics and urged the people to mobilize popular support for Prince Kadiri and the LP by reaching out to their friends and associates from the other political parties to ensure resounding victory.
Mr Abdulazeez Itanuasor, the President of the Auchi Dynamic Youth Association, emphasized the belief that Prince Kadiri’s victory would be a triumph for Auchi and expressed confidence in Prince Kadiri’s potential to excel in governance.
Other speakers, like Prince Karim Kadiri and Chief Aniru Garuba, echoed the sentiment that “Itsua khi’tsua” – “our own is our own” – encapsulating the unity and support for their candidates.
