Church of God mission celebrates Rev osayande Ekhator @50

The popular Church of God Mission International (CGMI) in Benin was recently filled with excitement as members gathered to celebrate Reverend Osayande Ekhator, who turned 50 last week.

The congregation saw this as a special sign of divine approval and spared no effort in making it a double celebration.

Several activities were organized to mark the occasion, including a book launch at the Faith Arena with the former deputy governor of Edo State, Rev Peter Obadan, represented by Prof Obarisiagbon, as the chairman of the occassion.

Rev Ekhator was formerly an accountant at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital before he chose to work in the church to help guide lost souls to salvation. He currently serves as the Director of Finance at the CGMI and is happily married to Rev (Mrs) Ekhator, with whom he has four children.

The birthday celebration provided an opportunity for family, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers to show their appreciation for the celebrant.

Rev. Feb Idahosa, the Head of Cabinet for CGMI, expressed joy that Rev. Ekhator is still relevant in the House of God at 50.

He commended him for the wonderful work he has done in the CGMI.

Similarly, Rev. Tari Ekiyor, CGMI Director of Administration, described Rev. Ekhator as a man with a large heart who is greatly concerned about the welfare and well-being of those around him.

The Chairman Organizing Committee, Rev. Bright Asemota, described the celebrant as a jolly good fellow and a passionate leader of the brethren.

He further stated that the celebrant has given his best to the work of God and therefore deserves all the accolades being poured on him.

The family, friends, and well-wishers of Rev. Ekhator also thronged the birthday venue in solidarity with him to prove that the good works he has been doing are recognized and appreciated.

They took turns to shower him with praises while wishing him good health and prosperity in the service of humanity.

In response to the deluge of pleasant wishes from various groups, individuals, and associates, a smiling Rev. Ekhator, overwhelmed by emotions, paid glowing tributes to everyone present.

He also gave a special message for the youths on his 50th birthday celebration, advising them to imbibe patience as a virtue, believing they are the leaders of tomorrow and represent the cornerstone of a better society.

Rev. Ekhator further admonished the youths to start simple, even if it requires them to start from a low point and gradually upscale as time goes by.

He insisted that life is not a bed of roses and urged the youths to be prayerful, hard-working, and patient with themselves and their expectations, emphasizing that with a strong faith in God, the future looks bright.

Among the dignitaries who attended the occasion was the Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. Darlington Obaridiagbon.
