Children’s Day Celebration: Honourable Omoruyi Canvasses for Greater Safety for Nigerian Children

The member representing Egor/ Ikpoba-Okha federal constituency of Edo state in the National Assembly, Honourable Murphy Osaro Omoruyi has congratulated all Nigerian children as they mark 2025 National Children’s Day.
Hon. Omoruyi, who described children as the heartbeat of Nigeria’s leadership and innovative growth underscores the theme of this year’s celebration, ” Stand Up, Speak Out, Building a Bullying-Free Generation “.
He said the theme could not be more apt than now given the global statistics that reveals that 1 out of every 3 children experiences bullying regularly while 65% school age children in Nigeria experiences different forms of bullying.
Against this backdrop, the federal lawmaker calls on governments at all tiers to prioritize child protection as a bedrock for building a confident generation of children that would take Nigeria to greater heights in leadership, innovations and other spheres of national development.
He said that while it is gratifying to note that all the 36 federating states of Nigeria have domesticated the Child Rights Act, those entrusted with the upbringing of children: parents, teachers, religious leaders and caregivers must take ownership of the business of nurturing and protecting the Nigerian child.
Hon. Omoruyi on behalf of himself, family, and the good people of Egor/ Ikpoba-Okha federal constituency, conveys his best wishes to all Nigerian children for a memorable 2025 National Children’s Day Celebration.
