Romeo Omoike, a prominent chairmanship aspirant in Etsako West Local Government Area, has urged local government chairmen to shift their focus beyond mere payment of salaries as a measure of achievement in office.
In an interview conducted during the holiday season, Omoike emphasized the need for tangible development and impactful projects that benefit the masses, rather than just fulfilling statutory obligations
Omoike emphasized that paying salaries is a fundamental duty, citing the biblical principle that “a labourer is worth his wages.” He stressed that local government chairmen should prioritize projects with tangible impact on the masses, as this is their primary responsibility .
He said “Paying salaries is a basic duty, not an achievement .LGA chairmen should focus on impactful projects benefiting the masses, their primary responsibility . “A labourer deserves his wages,”
Omoike also called on the Etsako West LGA chairman to implement palliatives on the Auchi-Abuja highway, particularly the Auchi end, to alleviate the suffering of users who are mostly locals
On the surge in Uzairue chairmanship aspirants , Omoike remarked that not all are genuine contenders; some are merely “claiming to be one for the sake of it”
Meanwhile , the chairmanship hopeful has embarked on strategic ward tour across Etsako west LGA garnering support and endorsement ahead of the party primaries .
