‎By DADA AYOKHAI

‎A dramatic turn of events has unfolded  , as Governor Monday Okpebholo  appears to have relieved his former Chief of Staff, Hon Gani Audu, of his duties, citing a redeployment to the Ministry of Oil and Gas, pending confirmation by the State House of Assembly.

‎Sources close to the governor’s office indicate that Audu’s removal was imminent, as he was conspicuously absent from the screening process for a new commissioner designate, Momodu Andrew, who hails from the  next neighbour community to Audu, Anwain in Etsako West LGA.

‎Momodu, a newcomer to the commissioner’s post, was swiftly confirmed by the Edo State House of Assembly on March 2, following a thorough screening process.

‎Speaker Blessing Agbebaku announced the confirmation, stating that the House found Momodu suitable to serve the people of Edo State.

‎Insiders expect Momodu to be sworn in soon, with a portfolio yet to be announced.

‎The move has sparked speculation about the reasons behind Audu’s sudden exit, with some observers suggesting a possible cabinet reshuffle.
